Jan 14, 2016 · An old system we have kicking about has 4 DIMM slots on the motherboard, and can take a maximum of 16 GB. Would I see a difference depending on how I filled the slots? Would 2x 8GB RAM sticks, with two slots left unoccupied, perform better or worse than 4x 4GB sticks occupying all the slots? Would there be no difference?
